FAVORS VENTURES, LLC

We started Favors Ventures a few years ago to encompass the many projects that we suddenly found ourselves working on during retirement, all boating related. We have published one book about the Great Loop - When the Water Calls... We Follow and have another one in the works for women boaters - Women On-Board Cruising (see BOOK- tab on menu to left).

In 2007 we began writing for several boating magazines. We are both currently writing online articles for BoatUS Online Cruising Logs, Jim was a temporary cruising editor for Waterway Guide while Lisa has been concentrating on book publishing and boating photography.

In our previous lives we worked in Traverse City, Michigan. Jim retired from Merrill Lynch where he had been the branch manager and a financial consultant, Lisa retired from Knorr Marketing as a graphic designer in 2000. We spent the first year of retirement traveling the 6,000-mile Great Loop route on our boat, Kismet. Jim obtained his U.S. Coast Guard Captain's licence before we left on the trip.
